The base for TV program exchange was created by the Department of the movie programs formed on May 28, 1963, that participated in preparation of the first program of "Friendship Herald" shot in Tbilisi. This program was shown on Armenian and Georgian TV twice a month.

"Armenia presents" program was shown by the Central Television on December 15, 1964. That night millions of USSR TV viewers saw the program of the Armenian television.
Receiving the programs of Central Television then became a priority, which was realized by constructing Yerevan-Rustavi microwave relay link. Starting from 1965 pilot programs from Moscow, Leningrad, Tbilisi were broadcasted on Armenian TV. Intervidenia and Eurovidenia systems were also introduced in Armenia.

By the end of 1961 and beginning of 1962, by using special equipment constructed by a group of specialists of the USSR Ministry of Communications Scientific-Research Institute, it became possible to adjust the telecommunication lines to multi-channel transmissions and receive 2-3 programs. In the beginning of 1963 those lines were used by Armenian telecommunication workers. In addition to reconstruction works done in the cities, significant works have been completed in villages. The low capacity radio networks were connected to the hubs of the Ministry of Communication, control of all hubs became automated.

"We mandatory celebrated the National Holiday of sister republics", - Mark Petrosyan, the first Music editor of Armenian television told.

- I remember well. The National Holiday of Azerbaijan was on April 28. Well, this was the day when Azerbaijan was "sovietized". I am sitting by the switchboard, I am the music director. There was a text, telling the "sovietization" story of that Republic. Village scenery, crowds of people, surrounding sound effects. I recorded quickly. We almost finished, when victorious music went on and Azerbaijan's Anthem had to begin...

It was already hot. The studio was the size of a matchbox. We worked with the doors and windows wide open, while the program was aired live. There were some dogs in the studio yard. I am not sure, whether they liked or were angered by the Anthem, but suddenly they started barking loudly. Imagine Azerbaijan's flag raising on the screen and the National Anthem accompanied with dogs barking. I started yelling: Who let the dogs in? Take them out, but it was already late. The flag was raised, the Anthem went with... barking.

Of course, we were reprimanded, but the explanation of the situation softened the management a little.
